Kumtura Caves,the famous caves,about 30 kilometers south-west of Kuqa,are on the cliffs of the mouth of the Muzat River.The cave-digging started in the time of the Jing Dynasty,ended in the Sun Dynasty,And the Tang Caves take the largest number.About 70 caves remain and the murals are better preserved now.Their subjects and styles were close to those of inland China of the time while they presented the styles of the Qiuci arts.And another two caves with painting s of their colour intact were found recently.
