Day 1 Arrive in Urumqi and explore the exotic city
Welcome to Xinjiang! Your tour guide will meet you at the Ürümqi Diwopu International Airport. Then be escorted to your hotel in a private vehicle. The rest of today is yours to explore the mysterious city on the Silk Road.
Day2 Urumqi - Turpan
After breakfast, we will take a 3 hours drive to Turpan, you can see the forest of wind mills and the salty lake along the Gobi desert. after getting to Turpan, we first go to visit the Karez System, a unique irrigation system, and one of the three greatest ancient projects in China. Then we will visit the Ancient City of Jiaohe which was built of rammed earth entirely. Standing in the ruins, you can imagine the past glory of the city 2,300 years ago. After that, our trip continues to Emin Minaret - a landmark of Turpan . The adjoining mosque is large enough to hold more than 1,000 people. Afterwards, we go to check into the hotel in Turpan. After dinner, you can walk around in the city to enjoy the local people’s life of the ‘fire prefecture’.
Day 3 Turpan - Urumqi
After checking out, we drive about 40km to the Ancient City of Gaochang, which was called the sister city of Jiaohe, It was founded in the 1st century BC, but largely destroyed by war in the late 13th century. You can still find ruins of city walls, temples, forts and chambers there.
then drive to the Flaming Mountains which runs 100km in length from Turpan city location, A famous novel”Journey to the west” tells a story happened here about the Monkey king. And the Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves is just located on the cliffs of the Mutougou valley in the Flaming Mountains. There are large number of Buddha images on the murals , and the spectacular scenary of the landscape in the valley can also astonish you.
After that, we will drive back to Urumqi for about four hours.
DAY 4Urumqi – (approx.550km/7h) Fuyun
After breakfast, we first drive to the Tianchi Lake, which means the Heavenly Lake, inside Mt Tianshan, the Heavenly Mountain. The lake’s green waters mirror the surrounding peaks of Tian Shan, presenting a breathtaking scene.
After that coach to Fuyun, along the highway nearby the Gurbantongurt Desert, you can view fire burned Mountain and Kalamah Nature Reserve, Wildlife like Mongolian wild donkey, wild sheep, wild horses and other hoofed animals call the reserve home. Enjoy Xinjiang cuisine for dinner.
DAY 5 Fuyun –-(approx.200km/3h) Buerjin –-(approx.160km/4h) Hemu village
After breakfast proceed to Hemu village, a paradise for photographers. Along the way, enjoy view of Altay mountain grassland. After getting to the village, you can wander around the Tuwa Ethnic Village. Legend has it that the villagers are descendants of the troops of Genghis Khan when he crusaded the west. However, the Tuwa elders claimed to be descended from Russians and their ancestors moved from Siberia to China approximately 500 years ago.
DAY 6 Hemu - (approx.60km/1.5h)Kanas – Jiadengyu
Get up early to catch the incredible sunrisewhich is also the MUST photo to be shot. When the sun rises and shines onto the mist curling up the villages, After enjoying the sunrise of the Hemu village, head to Kanas Nature Reserve (include tram ride), China‘s only European-like ecological site that has been awarded the title of the "Pure Land of the World" due to its unspoiled original natural scenery.
We first visit the Wolong Bay, Moon Bay, and Fairy Bay along the Kanas river. Next, head to Kanas Viewpoint(includes tram car), where you can have a panoramic view of three-quarters of the lake. If you look north, but also clearly see the highest peak of the Altai Mountain - Friendship Peak, which is about 430 0meters above the sea level.
DAY 7 Jiadengyu —Kanas —(approx.160km/4h) Burqin
After breakfast, double entry to Kanas, We will take a boat journey further to the lake, Take your leisure time to enjoy the breathtaking landscape of Kanas Lake. Kanas Lake takes on different colors with the change of weather and seasons. .
Then, we drive downward to Burqin and tour Wucaitan, known as rainbow city, the wind-worn rock formations ranging from 5 to 25 meters in height line the bank of the only river in China – Irtysh River, whose waters reach the Arctic Ocean. Wooden pathways snake through the colorful landscape to provide various angles for incredible photographic opportunities. After sunset, We drive back to Burqin.
DAY8 Burqin – (approx.350km/4h)Karamay
After breakfast, take coach to Karamay. Travel along the Gurbantunggut Desert to the Urho Ghost City, go explore the magic “Ghost Castle”. Named as one of the world’s most beautiful Yardang Landform by National Geographic, also known as "Wuerhe Wind City", a unique wind-eroded geological area commonly referred to as "wind city" because of the frequent howling winds. The weathered rocks are in various forms and shapes which look like ancient palaces in Gothic, Chinese and Egyptian architectural styles.
DAY 9Karamay – (approx.330km/4h) Urumqi
After breakfast, take a coach ride to Urumqi. Upon arrival, enjoy a walk in Urumqi International Bazaar, purchase souvenirs such as silk Uyghur apparel, fruits, for yourself, or family and friends.
DAY 10 Departure from Urumqi
Today is free for you to explore Urumqi by yourself until your tour guide escort you to airport for your flight.
