Sayram Lake

Sayram Lake, is located in the northern ancient Silk Road,the west of the Tianshan Mountain range.When we drive from Urumqi to Yinng ,you can see the Lake on the right of the road.In Mongolian,it means lake in the ridge of a mountain.It is also called “clear sea in the west”,”the last drop of tear of Atlantic Ocean”.Its elevation is 2073 meters,the highest lake above sea level and highest mountain lake in China.

Sayram Lake is like a blue jewel in a basin in the west of the Tianshan Mountains.Trees and mountains encircle the lake and the water reflects the sky.

In spring,around the lake shore there are beautiful blossoming flowers with sheep,cattle and white yurts on the grassland.It is a good relaxing place.
